Workshops

RMAC offers three workshop options both here in our Lakewood, CO location and co-hosted at your site. If you are interested in co-hosting a workshop with Dr. Rydell, please contact Elizabeth.

Option One:

Practical Applications of Classroom and Intervention Strategies
for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders
Two-Day Workshop

Attendees should include Early Intervention & Part C providers, Educators, Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Social Workers, Para-Professionals/Teacher's Aides, and Resource Coordinators. This workshop is designed for professionals who work with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in early intervention and primary grade settings AND who have attended introductory level ASD trainings. Workshop content will review SCERTS® Model components, the core challenges of ASD, the SCERTS® Assessment Process, and practical intervention strategies based on RMAC’s approach and Dr. Rydell’s 26 years of practical experience. This workshop is highly recommended for multi-disciplinary teams and autism support teams.

Option Two:

Practical Applications of Classroom and Intervention Strategies
for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders
One-Day Workshop

This One-Day Workshop is designed specifically for families, professionals, and para-professionals who work with children with ASD in early intervention and primary grade settings. This workshop will cover ASD characteristics and learning styles, core challenges, SCERTS® model components, goal prioritization, intervention strategies, behavior challenges, and IEP team roles and responsibilities. This workshop is also applicable for children with other disabilities and is designed to be very practical and applied.

Option Three:

Developmental/Behavioral Assessment & Consultation for Children
with Autism Spectrum Disorders: Case Studies
One-Day Workshop

Educational Team Videotape Format
Six Educational teams (2-5 members) will participate in this workshop as they bring 2 videos of children with ASD from their district (early childhood, primary, middle or high school student) and prepare a brief case study. Dr. Rydell will use the SCERTS® Model and other applied methods as a guide as he facilitates team discussions of the case studies in order to formulate intervention recommendations. Teams will have the opportunity to share, view, and discuss other educational teams’ case studies.
